Amnesty Postponed to Later Date

The draft law about amnesty lies in the President’s Office for a couple of months. RFE/RL reports, minister of internal affairs Uladzimir Navumau claimed that addressing the Chamber of Representatives today.
The minister explained the reason of the delay: “The President’s Office has some misunderstanding about exact definition of certain categories of citizens who may be amnestied”.
The minister did not say, what “categories” raised doubts of the President’s Office.
Earlier unofficial sources reported, amnesty would be timed to July 3rd, the official holiday of the Republic of Belarus.
