Mahiliou: Students Protest against Repeal of Privileges
On 9 May a students’ rally of protest against repeal of privileges took place in Mahiliou. It had about 100 participants. Beside policemen, professors of Mahiliou universities observed the youth rally.
The protest lasted for about two hours. None of participants was detained. Young people organized the picket and collected signatures for preserving benefits for students. Students to continue collecting signatures in universities, and then submit them to the education department of Mahiliou city executive committee, the press-service of the Belarusian Popular front party informs.
One of the leaders of Mahiliou branch of the Belarusian People’s Front Aliaksandr Anisimau told that a group of young people who went to the action had been attacked by the unknown in mufti. Students were seriously beaten up.
