According to the UCP press service

The deputy chair of the UCP Ihar Shynkaryk has applied to Minsk executive committee for authorization of pickets in support of the political prisoner Andrei Klimau.

‘The administration of investigative isolator #1 for a long time groundlessly refused to accept from Klimau’s relatives the medicines that are necessary to him. After insistent demands they accepted the medicines, but a part of them, expensive foreign ones, were not passed to Klimau. They are replaced with cheap analogs which are produced in the Republic of Belarus. Despite the fact that Andrei Klimau needs medical treatment, he is kept in an overcrowded cell with smoking cellmates and no medical treatment is given to him,’ Shynkaryk commented.

At 12 a.m. on 21 May Ihar Shynkaryk intends to hold a picket opposite the prosecutor’s office on Minsk, and at 12 a.m. on 22 May – near the investigative isolator.
