Journalist Eduard Brokarau Fired

Horki journalist and activist Eduard Brokarau, reporter of Regionalnye Vedomosti newspaper, was fired from work. In November Eduard Brokarau renewed publishing of his own newspaper Horetski Vabor, which covered public and political life of the region. After that the editor of Regionalnye Vedomosti told the reporter they didn’t need his services any more.

Eduard Brokarau has worked in Regionalnye Vedomosti since 2000. He focused on political issues, elections and campaigns, in particular. Last year, in the run up to the presidential election, the editor prohibited publishing materials connected with politics. After that Brokarau began publishing his own unregistered newspaper Horetski Vybor, which was completely dedicated to the events that happened before and after the presidential election-2006.
