On November 22, the Day of Freedom of the Ukrainian nation, Young Front addressed the leaders of Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova with the request to raise the issue of human rights violations in Belarus at the CIS summit. The summit is to take place on November 28 in Minsk.

In their letter the Young Front activists describe the events and the repression of democratic activists in Belarus. Young Front draws attention of the state leaders of Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova to the fact that there are 12 political prisoners in Belarus who have been thrown behind bars for their political convictions. One of them is Zmitser Dashkevich, 25, leader of Young Front. On November 1, 2006 he was sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment for “actibg on behalf of an unregistered organization”.
