Aliaksandr Milinkevich Visits Political Prisoner Andrei Klimau

In the morning of 20 November the leader of democratic forces Aliaksandr Milinkevich paid a visit to the political prisoner Andrei Klimau who is kept at a corrective labor facility. The politicians discussed the problems of the political situation in Belarus and exchanged their thoughts about possible development of the events during the following months.

After the meeting with Andrei Klimau Aliaksandr Milinkevich went to Rechytsa to collect there signatures for registration of local democratic activists as candidates to deputy soviets. He said he didn’t expect that in provinces will so eagerly sign in support of democratic candidates.

‘Despite of the evident pessimistic attitude to the local authorities people have a strong wish to get the justice. In the regions this wish is predominantly associated with democratic changes in the country’, -- Aliaksandr Milinkevich said. On 18 November Mr Milinkevich also met with the recently released political prisoner Siarhei Skrabets. The politicians agreed to give cooperative support to political prisoners in Belarus.
