Hrodna Region: Official Charges to Be Given to Andzhei Lisouski within 10-day Period

14.11.2006.

On 13 November, Viktar Razhko, the investigator of especially important cases of Hrodna regional KGB department, interrogated Anzhei Lisouski, the driver of the car which was detained on the border on the way to Belarus from Lithuania. Mr Lisouski, a UPB member for 15 years already, is suspected of smuggling drugs. After the interrogation he had to sign an undertaking not to leave Hrodna without the investigator’s permission.

‘They also wanted me to give undertaking not to speak about the process of investigation, but I refused to sign it, because I am not a bandit’, said Andzhei Lisouski in his interview with Salidarnasts. ‘I don’t know what kind of powder figures in the case, because I am not a specialist in it. At the customs offices they said there was 1.5 grams of hashish, then – that it was heroin, but finally the investigation settled down with amphetamine. Now the powder is at expertise, but its results are unimportant, it is an evident provocation anyway.’

More than a week ago workers of the inquiry department of the customs office searched Lisouski’s car and flat, but didn’t find anything. As a result they exacted for expertise Lisouski’s clothes (jeans, sweater, coat) and shoes and also took samples of his nails for the expertise. The results of the expertise are still unknown. According to the official information, the analysis of the urine didn’t witness presence of narcotic substances in Lisouski’s body.

We should remind that on 29 October Anzhalika Borys, the chair of the Union of Poles in Belarus (the one that is not recognized by the authorities) was going home from Vilnius, where she participated in a sitting of the European Union of Polish organizations. At the transition point Pryvalki the customs officers found a pack of unidentified powder in her car.
