Minsk: New Act of Vandalism at Holocaust Memorial
Last weekend the memorial complex Iama (Pit) was covered with a swastika. A sculpture composition Last mile was smeared with white paint. Leaflets of Arian resistance front Belaya Rus were scattered near the memorial. At the same time, swastikas and anti-Semitic slogans appeared on the doors of Israeli informational and cultural center in Minsk.
’We consider this act of vandalism a manifestation of anti-Semitism and a provocation of ethic discord. We are hoping that state authorities would give an appropriate opinion to those actions,’ the Union of Belarusian Jewish public associations stated.
