Navapolatsk: Valery Shauchenka Complains against Prohibition to Picket in Support of Political Prisoners

09.11.2006.

On 9 November the citizens of Navapolatsk Valery Shauchenka filed complaints to the chair of Vitsebsk Regional Executive Committee and Vitsebsk Regional Department of Internal Affairs. He complains against the prohibition of Navapolatsk City Executive Committee because of which he wasn’t able to hold pickets in support of political prisoners in April 2006. Mr Shauchenka asks administrative punishment for the CEC administration.

It’s worth mentioning that Valery Shauchenka has already filed many complaints during the last six months, but the only result was a fine for ‘wrong parking’. Nevertheless, now the activist starts the second round of his ‘epistolary saga’ – he wants to use the come-offs received from duty officials for showing the way the laws and the constitutional rights of citizens are violated in Belarus.
