Today Iryna Kazulina, the wife of the candidate for presidency Aliaksandr Kazulin, visited the colony Vitsba-3 to find out about the state of health of her husband. For a few days the wife of political prisoner could not reach the administration of the penal colony on the phone and find out anything about the state of health of her husband Aliaksandr Kazulin, who has been continuing the hunger strike for 20 days already. ‘I met the director of the colony Vital Ahnistsikau, and he told me that my husband feels alright. He had allegedly lost 8 kilograms for the time of hunger strike. I do not know who had weighted him, but it seems to me that he should have lost much more in 20 days. I cannot meet with my husband, as I have used all permissions for short-term meetings. I would not be allowed to meet with my husband earlier than January 17. I failed to meet with the doctor observing Aliaksandr as well. The head of the colony told that it is impossible,’ Iryna Kazulina said to the Charter’97 press center.

As said by the wife of the former candidate, the head of the colony said once again that he would not allow lawyer to visit Kazulin during his hunger strike. ‘He told to me that the lawyer would be granted a meeting after my husband stop the hunger strike. As said by Ahnistsikau, it was his decision, and he is responsible for it,’ Iryna Kazulina said.

Iryna Kazulina asked Vital Ahnistsikau, why it takes more than a week for her husband’s letters to be delivered. ‘The director of the colony told that Vitsba is a settlement, and rural mail works more slowly than city one’, the woman said.

’I am certainly worried by having almost no information about my husband’s state. But there are no other variant of accessing information about his health, that is why I should be content with what I have,’ the wife of the former candidate for presidency noted.
