Non-state Newspaper Vitsebski Kur’er Has to Move to New Office

The editorial board of the non-state newspaper Vitsebski Kur’er again has to change its address: the rent contract at the taxi park in Haharyn Street wasn’t prolonged. Now the editorial office is situated in the administrative building #120 in Maskouski Avenue. Its workers consider as a positive moment the fact that at the new office they have three rooms opposed to two at the old one. Nevertheless, it is the second move during the last year – the previous one took place in November, when the authorities ordered the editorial board to leave the building of the Cultural-business center Vitsebsk after the 10 years of work there. Since that time the editorial office has problems with renting offices, sale and subscription to the newspaper. At present it can be bought only from private distributors or subscribed to by transfer of the fee to a bank account. The newspaper is not sold by the state monopolist Belsaiuzdruk and Belposhta, another state monopolist, doesn’t accept subscription to it.
