On 6 October in the morning broadcast the journalists of the FM radio station Novaie radyio that belongs to the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (official pro-governmental organization with Leanid Kozik at the head) declared a strike of protest against the self-will of the FTUB and asked Aliaksandr Lukashenka for protection.

However, the fact of the strike still hasn’t been officially confirmed. The workers of the radio station refuse to comment on the situation and the administration answers no telephone calls.

Novaie radyio has worked in the Belarusian air for about two years. Recently there has appeared some information about problems with the workers’ wages. Another interesting fact is that more than a year ago this radio station was the first to receive a warning from the Ministry of Information for non-execution of the presidential order to broadcast at least 75% of Belarusian music.
