The enterprise administration explained its refusal to withdraw the trade union fees from the wages by the fact that the new collective treaty hasn’t been yet concluded. The negotiations concerning this treaty between the enterprise and the Belarusian Independent Trade Union have continued since May, whereas the previous contract ended on 30 July. ˜The administration of Hrodna Azote refused to withdraw the fees for August was absolutely illegal’, commented the chair of the primary unit of BITU at Hrodna Azote Siarhei Antusevich. ˜Today I have reminded to the deputy director of ideology Aliaksandr Lapkovich and the chief accountant that according to ruling #1804 of 14 December 2001 About measures for protection of members of trade unions, point 2 of which reads that the employer must withdraw fees from the salary and transfer them to the trade union’s account. Of course, we have such applications.’
