The convicted activists of the unregistered NGO Partnership Mikalai Astreika and Tsimafei Dranchuk were transferred from the investigative isolator of KGB to the investigative isolator of the main department of foreign affairs of Minsk City Executive Committee.

According to the information provided to the information agency BelaPAN by Iulia Dranchuk, Tsimafei’s sister, on 10 August Tsimafei met with his defence lawyer, who later informed his relatives about the transfer. According to Iulia, at first the administration of the investigative isolator didn’t understand the situation and almost put both into the same cell.

Earlier Enira Branitskaia and Aliaksandr Shalaika, other convicts on Partnership case, were transferred to the same jail. After the reading of the verdict Aliaksandr Shalaika was transferred to another cell of the isolator. This one is situated in the cellar and there’s no fresh air. Mr Shalaika has ill heart and feels bad there. According to the defence lawyer, 10 more persons are kept there together with Aliaksandr.

Let us remind that the four activists were punished with different terms of imprisonment: Mikalai Astreika – two years, Tsimafei Dranchuk – one year, Enira Branitskaia and Aliaksandr Shalaika – six months.
