On 10 August the court of Baranavichy district and Baranavichy fined the youth activists Iuliia Kharkevich 620 thousand Belarusian roubles (about 288 US dollars). The girl was charged with violation of the article 167 of the Administrative Code – ˜holding unsanctioned protest’.

Iuliia Kharkevich was detained in Baranavichy during the protest on 16 July, the Day of Belarusian Solidarity. Baranavichy dwellers gathered in the town center with burning candles and portraits of Belarusian political prisoners and abducted oppositionists. Seven participants of the protest were taken to the police department and kept for four hours there.
