On 21 December the Orthodox priest Siarhei visited the prisoner in the prison hospital and informed the businessman’s friends that he feels weak and looks bad. The Radio Liberty correspondent visited the prison hospital and found out about the health of Mikalai Autukhovich.
The doctor said that giving interviews is banned but the businessman feels “satisfactory”. “I have seen hunger-strikers and I may say that the health of this man, considering the 60 days of the hunger-strike, remains quite good”, said the doctor. According to his information, Mr. Autukhovich continues to deny food, but drinks tea, kissel and takes in glucose.
Mikalai Autukhovich’s father does not believe such opinions and says that he has other information because the other day his friends met with the hospital doctor and passed on bad news: "They passed on different information. Allegedly, the doctor said that he would continued for another ten days, and that’s it. This is what I was told. A friend of mine went to Minsk".
Mikalai Autukhovich Senior now attempts to get a meeting with the son. It is not excluded that he will be allowed to see his son next Monday.
