Opposition proposes visa sanctions against the KGB chief
During the December 19 session the Political Council of the Opposition Coalition chaired by the united presidential candidate Aliaxandr Milinkievich adopted an statement sent to the G-8 countries and members of the Security Council of the UN with a proposal to initiate the consideration of the situation in Belarus.
The opposition called on the European Union, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and OSCE to conduct an international conference on Belarus, where they could voice the conditions under which the presidential elections must be held.

Anatol Liabedzka explained it to Radio Liberty whom they meant: “We mean Natallia Piatkievich, who had been preparing this issue in the Presidential Administration, Stsiapan Sukharenka, the KGB chief, and two leaders of the chambers of the National Assembly”.
