During the December 19 session the Political Council of the Opposition Coalition chaired by the united presidential candidate Aliaxandr Milinkievich adopted an statement sent to the G-8 countries and members of the Security Council of the UN with a proposal to initiate the consideration of the situation in Belarus.

Anatol Liabedzka explained it to Radio Liberty whom they meant: “We mean Natallia Piatkievich, who had been preparing this issue in the Presidential Administration, Stsiapan Sukharenka, the KGB chief, and two leaders of the chambers of the National Assembly”.
