Zubr movement activists were detained in Homel before the Day of Solidarity.
On 15 November at 8.30 p.m. Pavel Madshar and Ruslan Hlazkou were detained. Mr. Khadosau, head of the third section of Chyhunachny Department of Internal Affairs in Homel, personally detained them.
The ZUBR activists were taken to the police for identification, they were searched there and released without a report compiled. During the detention, the police used bad language and insulted the detained people.
“Paviel and Ruslan were detained for distributing information about the Day of Solidarity”, said Anatol Paplauny, a Human Rights Center Viasna activist from Homel. - They have been closely watched by the authorities for a long time… Now we plan to appeal against the actions of the police in the procurator’s office”.
