BelaPAN informs that the internet version of the radio program Deutsche Welle to be broadcast across Belarus will be partly in Belarusian. The head of the radio station's communications department Iohannes Hoffman informed the agency to this effect.
This decision was made because of the great number of letters coming to the station, where citizens of Belarus criticize the idea of broadcasting in Belarus in the Russian language.
The Deutsche Welle representative did not rule out that in future the broadcasting could be in Belarusian. "First we have to see the result, whether this program as such will cause some reaction", said Mr. Hoffman.
The first program will be broadcast on 1 November. It will be broadcast for half an hour three times a day, the live version at 6.30 p.m., and the recorded version at 8.30 p.m. and at 10.30 p.m. The journalists behind the issue of the program includes two Deutsche welle employees and correspondent in Belarus.
