Andrei Pachobut, the editor of the Hrodna-based Magazyn Polski, said the 13 members of the Council of the Union of Poles who, at the initiative of the authorities, attended on 27 July in Shchuchyn the meeting which appointed the date for the repeated 6th congress of the organization were barred from entry to Poland, reported Radio Liberty.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland declared that they know nothing of such a ban. The press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Tamash Serotsich said that he could only confirm a list of people barred from entry to Poland: "This list is for internal use by the appropriate organs: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, border guards. To reflect the changing situation the list will be expanded to include new names, which I cannot disclose. This list is updated on a regularly basis as required and according to the news from Belarus".
Andrei Pachobut, the editor of the Hrodna-based Magazyn Polski, claims that the ban to enter Poland may apply to all participants of the repeated 6th congress of the Union of Poles, due on 27 August in Vaukavysk.
