Paval and Ihar Maryniches regard as unfair the decision taken by Judge Natallia Vaitsekhovich, which authorized confiscation of almost all property from the apartment in Masherava Avenue, where Mikhail Marynich's family lives. The judge left the politician's sons only a television and an exercise bicycle, and an iron for the former wife.

"This insults even the law that bans confiscation of indispensable household items. Obviously, that was revenge for the political views of our father and our struggle for his release", said Paval Marynich, the politician's younger son told Radio Liberty.

On 27 June Marynich's sons also filed a complaint with the procurator's office of Minsk. They demand that criminal proceedings be instituted against the judge whom they accuse of intentionally violating the law.

At the beginning of June, the court confiscated Mikhail Marynich's property on the basis of a verdict that found the politician guilty of stealing property and sent him to prison for three and a half years. Mikhail Marynich believes that he is being persecuted for his opposition activity.
