Salihorsk District Court didn't grant the appeal of civic activist Uladzimir Shyla against the ban of the picket he intended to hold on Freedom Day, 25 March. The trial was lead by the deputy-head of the court Ala Trafimchuk.

On 7 May in Baranavichy an activist of the United Civil Party Anzhalika Kambalava was detained for holding a picket to remind the people about the missing ex-Minister of Interior, Yury Zakharanka.
08.05.2013 Journalists Halko and Yarashevich sentenced to arrest
In the evening of 6 May Aliaksandr Yarashevich, a journalist of the Belarusian service of Radio "Racyja", and blogger Dzmitry Halko were detained near the metro station "Mikhalova". At about 8.40 p.m. a bus with riot policemen stopped near them, the guys were pulled into a car and taken to Maskouski District Police Department in Minsk.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in Belarus, Miklos Haraszti, has published his first report on the situation of human rights in the country. The document was prepared under the mandate approved by the UN Council on Human Rights, and presented at the Council on 18 April.

Interestingly, compared with the previous list, the number of political parties, which had rent benefits, decreased: benefits were left to the Communist Party and the Republican Party of Labor and Justice, whereas the Belarusian Social and Sportive Party, the Belarusian Patriotic Party and the Agrarian Party of Belarus were denied benefits.

06.05.2013 Bialynichy: all appeals of families with many children are returned to Byalynichy District Executive Committee
In the beginning of May families with many children residing in Byalynichy started getting answers from various state institutions to their collective addresses and complaints about violations of the rights of families with many children during the construction of a dwelling house. As it follows from the answers, all addresses were forwarded to Byalynichy District Executive Committee, whose actions were appealed in the addresses.

As stated in an appropriate report of the Council of Europe, almost a half of European prisons are overcrowded. The greatest percentage of arrested was registered in Russia, then come Belarus, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
