The Human Rights Center “Viasna”

On 8 June Ryhor Hryk received a written notice that his labor contract would not be extended. The engineer of the personnel department of the car aggregates plant Ala Tkachova and the engineer of the engineer of labor organization and salaries department Volha Minich.

As it became known today from a letter of the Head of the Human Rights Center "Viasna", vice-president of the International Federation of Human Rights Ales Bialiatski to his wife, the chairman of the Minsk City Court dismissed the supervisory complaint filed by the human rights activist and his lawyer against the verdict of the Pershamaiski Dstrict Court of Minsk and the ruling of the panel of judges of the Minsk City Court.

On 5 June the member of the board of the civil association “Mahiliou Human Rights Center” Viktar Sidarenka paid a visit to Babruisk penal colony #2 to meet with the convicted human rights defender Ales Bialiatski.

Civil activist Ryhor Hryk filed written applications with the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General. He informs them that on 22 May the Savetski District Court of Minsk granted the lawsuit of a worker of the oil-processing plant Maryna Tsybliyenka against oppositional politician Viktar Ivashkevich.

The head of the Brest regional organization of the Free Trade Union of Belarus Valiantsin Lazarenkau received a letter from the university’s rector Mechyslau Chasnouski, in which the official demands to be provided with the list of all FTUB members working in the educational establishment.

On 5 June the head of the Barysau city organization of the United Civil Party Mikhail Vasiliieu sued the Barysau District Executive Committee in connection with prohibition of a series of pickets "For honest elections without Lukashenka".

On 5 June Homel Region Court considered the appeal of a member of the United Civil Party and Movement "For Freedom!", police pensioner Uladzimir Niapomniashchykh against a verdict of the Tsentralny District Court of Homel.

Liubou Kavaliova, the mother of the executed convict Uladzislau Kavaliou, didnt receive an answer of the KGB pre-trial prison administration towards her inquiry within the legal term (one month). In her letter to the KGB head Vadzim Zaitsau she writes that his subordinates violate the presidential decree about citizens' applications.

The trials over the journalists, protesters and passers-by detained during an action of protest in Hrodna on 31 May continued on 6 and 7 June.
