13.03.2012 Mikalai Ulasevich gets no compensation of court expenditures
On 12 March the civil cases board of the Hrodna Regional Court considered two private appeals against the rulings of the Ashmiany District Court concerning Mikalai Ulasevich’s case. On of the appeals was filed by Mr. Ulasevich, the other – by his representative, member of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Hary Pahaniaila. The first appeal concerned the refusal of the Ashmiany District Court to issue additional ruling concerning the court expenditures.

Citizens of the villages Pchelnik, Stara-Barysau and the agrarian settlement Dziamidauka disagree with the authorities' intention to construct the plant close to their homes athwart the initially published plans.

During the last months friends and colleagues of political prisoner Yauhen Vaskovih haven't received any letters from them. Only his relatives receive some neutral letters without any complaints.

Another journalist is summonsed to the Brest Regional Procuracy. This time it's Zmitser Kisel.
13.03.2012 Barysau: Ihar Askerka sentenced to 10 days of arrest
Ihar Askerka, the son of activist Anatoly Askerka, was tried today in Barysau. Anatol was arrested earlier for an action to support political prisoner Andrei Sannikau.
13.03.2012 Swedish journalists detained in Minsk
A Swedish TV crew was detained in Minsk at about 6 p.m. on 12 March. Police also detained a Belarusian correspondent of Russian News Service radio, Uladzimir Chudziantsou, and a member of the Belarusian Journalists Association (BAJ), Illia Kuzniatsou, who were accompanying a crew of Sveriges Television (cameraman Sven Bergmann, correspondent Olav Christopherson and producer Isabelle Somerfeld).
